Prior experience including the direction of entire User Experience team (Interaction Design, Visual, Content and Business System Analysis) for McAfee’s Consumer Direct, Retail, and OEM (computer manufactory partnerships) business, representing more than 95% of the Consumer revenue segment.

Currently directing the User Centric Design team at Align Technology (makers of Invisalign), a S&P 500 company, a global medical device company leader in its segment. A company that has a history of always setting the bar for leadership and change in its industry by constantly innovating to bring new and better solutions to doctors and their patients and the User Centric Design approach is a perfect match to it. Great responsibility and inspiration for my entire team.

I’m a father of 2; 8 year’s old girl and an 13 year’s old boy. Very family oriented person and love to spend time with them and my wife. I love to watch and play soccer (as a Brazilian, this is part of my childhood and life). Brazil’s national team, Real Madrid (Spain), Flamengo and São Paulo (Brazil) are my beloved teams.

Working with UX for about 10+ years (and counting…)

Used to fast pace environment, with multiple requirements coming to my team at the same time. That and the need for a better organization inside the team drove me to implement the Agile Scrum within my UX/Design team.

Initially implemented my process in one team (4 people) and expanded that to 5 more teams (20 people) reporting (directly and indirectly) to me.

Worked/involved in more than 121 different projects (not counting releases). Products/projects for PC, Mac, Web, Android, iOS, Wearables and IoT devices. Projects internally are considered features for existing application/product or the entire product itself (from scratch). Seeing our customers enjoying the products and UX that I helped create gives me tremendous satisfaction and the sense of accomplishment.

I really enjoy building a good work relationship with my colleagues. At the end of the day, these great professionals are the ones we tend to spend more time than our own family, so we have to make it fun and rewarding.
